Pickup from your Delhi address by 7:00 AM. We take the Yamuna Expressway south — a clean 165 km run with one chai stop near Mathura toll. We reach Vrindavan by around 11 AM, check in at the hotel near Banke Bihari, and break for lunch at Brijwasi or MVT Vrindavan (vegetarian thali, no onion-no garlic on request). The Banke Bihari Mandir reopens after its afternoon rest hour at 5:30 PM in summer and 4:30 PM in winter; we walk to the temple just before opening for the first darshan of the evening — far less crowded than the post-7 PM rush. Straight after, we walk to Radharaman Mandir, one of the seven original goswami temples of Vrindavan — the seva pattern here is unchanged from the 16th century and the sandhya aarti is intimate, conducted by descendants of Gopal Bhatta Goswami. We reach ISKCON Vrindavan (Krishna-Balaram Mandir) by 6:15 PM for the 6:30 PM Sandhya Aarti and the evening kirtan. Then to Prem Mandir for the marble-facade light-and-fountain show — 7:00–7:30 PM in winter, 7:30–8:00 PM in summer. Back at the hotel by 9:30, dinner at a nearby satvik restaurant, early to bed — tomorrow we begin at 4 AM.

Vrindavan parking — the sedan drops us a 2-minute walk from the Banke Bihari lanes; the lanes themselves are vehicle-free. No mobiles or bags inside Banke Bihari (cloakroom at the entrance). Radharaman Mandir is a 5-minute walk from Banke Bihari — no shoes, modest dress. Hotel staff at Vrindavan speak Hindi as their first language.
The parikrama day, the heart of the package. We meet our Vrindavan coordinator in the hotel lobby at 4:00 AM. Two options based on season and group preference. Option A (cool months): ISKCON Vrindavan Mangala Arati at about 4:10 AM — the one pre-dawn aarti in Vrindavan open to all every day — back at hotel by 5:30, quick breakfast, drive to Daan Ghati Mandir by 7:00 AM, begin the parikrama at sunrise — finishes by 1 PM. Banke Bihari holds Mangla Aarti only once a year, on Janmashtami; no operator can arrange it on an ordinary morning. Option B (warm months and groups skipping the arati): leave the hotel at 4:30 AM directly for Daan Ghati, begin the parikrama in the dark at 5:30 AM, finish before 11 AM.</p> <p>The parikrama is 7 kos — about 21 km — circumambulating the Govardhan hill in the prescribed clockwise direction. The route in order: Daan Ghati Mandir (the start, where Krishna asked for tribute), Manasi Ganga (the sacred lake), Mukharvind Darshan, Radha Kund and Shyam Kund (the twin tanks), Kusum Sarovar (the marble cenotaph reservoir), Punchari ka Lautha (the southern hill-face, the lifting-spot), and back to Daan Ghati. We walk; the road is mostly flat, partially shaded in stretches, mostly unshaded by midday. Three rest stops: one at Manasi Ganga (water and fruit), one at Radha Kund (a brief sit, ₹50 darshan donation if you choose), one at Kusum Sarovar (water, biscuits). A midway meal stop at a Radha Kund vegetarian eatery or at Daan Ghati on return — about 30 minutes. Our coordinator walks with the group throughout; the sedan circles the parikrama road by motorable route and meets us at each rest stop, with water topped up, and is available to pick up anyone who needs to step out of the walk. Back at the Vrindavan hotel by 2–3 PM for rest. Evening is free — we suggest ISKCON Vrindavan or Nidhivan if energy remains, or simply a quiet evening at the hotel.
గమనిక Wear cotton clothing and broken-in walking shoes — not new sandals. Carry a small daypack with a 1-litre water bottle (we refill), sunglasses, a cap, and a thin towel for the kunds. The parikrama is on a road shared with light vehicles and pony carts; walk on the inner side. Pony, palanquin, and e-rickshaw available at Daan Ghati for ₹1,500–3,000 per person if you cannot walk — book directly there. Bathing in Radha Kund and Shyam Kund is permitted; carry a change of clothes if you wish. Phones should be charged (carry a power bank). The sedan circles the parikrama road and meets the group at three rest points; flag the coordinator if you need to step out. Pace yourself; the parikrama is a sadhana, not a hike. After the parikrama, rest is essential — do not plan dinner outings on Day 2 evening.
Breakfast at the hotel, checkout by 9:00 AM. We drive 15 km to Mathura. Three darshans this morning. First, Krishna Janmabhoomi — the complex around the prison cell where Krishna is said to have been born. Bag and mobile cloakroom at the entrance (airport-style security, allow 15 minutes for the queue). Inside, the Bhagavata Bhavan houses the prakat-sthan Garbha Griha; the Keshava Dev shrine adjoins. Allow about 75 minutes total. Second, we walk down to Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna — the spot where Krishna is said to have rested after slaying Kamsa. The daytime aarti is shorter than the evening one but the steps are quiet and the river is wide here. Third, Dwarkadhish Mathura — the Pushtimarg shrine run by the Vallabh-sampradaya, with its distinctive Rajasthani-style sanctum and the Dwarkadhish murti dressed in royal seva. The aarti timings vary by season; our coordinator confirms the morning slot. Lunch at Brijwasi (Mathura outlet) or a Yamuna-side restaurant. We start the drive back to Delhi by 3:00 PM, drop at your Delhi address by 7:00–8:00 PM.
