Kashi Yatra from Delhi

Delhi is one of the best-connected origin cities for a Kashi Yatra — you can choose your journey by how you want to arrive.

By Vande Bharat. The New Delhi–Varanasi Vande Bharat Express (22436, returning as 22435) was the very first Vande Bharat in the country, flagged off on this route in February 2019. It runs via Kanpur and Prayagraj, leaving New Delhi at 6:00 AM and arriving in Varanasi around 2:00 PM — about 8 hours, most days of the week. You leave home after breakfast and stand on the ghats by evening aarti.

By overnight train. Named trains like the Kashi Vishwanath Express and the Mahamana Express link Delhi with Varanasi — board at night, wake up in Kashi. For many families this is still the pilgrimage the way their parents did it.

By air. Regular direct flights connect Delhi with Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at Babatpur, about 22 km from the city — around an hour by road to the old city.

Whichever you choose, every Satmarg package begins with pickup. Trains arrive at Varanasi Junction or Banaras station, and some long-distance services use Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, 16 km away — our driver is at the right platform exit either way, and the lanes nearest the ghats close to cars, so we drop you at the closest permitted point and walk you in.
