Kashi Yatra from Mumbai

For Mumbai's pilgrims, Kashi has long been a cherished journey — and today it is a short flight away.

By air. Regular direct flights connect Mumbai with Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at Babatpur, about 22 km from the city — around an hour by road to the old city. For a 3-night yatra, flying both ways keeps every day for darshan, and for most families it is the practical choice.

By train. The Mahanagari Express has carried Mumbai's pilgrims to Kashi for decades — a direct train, but well over a full day on the rails each way. If the train journey is part of the pilgrimage for your family, we plan around it gladly; if leave is short, fly.

Either way, every Satmarg package begins with pickup. Flights land at Babatpur; trains arrive at Varanasi Junction or Banaras station, and some long-distance services use Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, 16 km away. Our driver is at the arrivals gate or the platform exit, and because the lanes nearest the ghats close to cars, we drop you at the closest permitted point and walk you in.
