Arrive at Haridwar by train, flight (Dehradun), or road. Our driver receives the group with a name-board and assists with luggage. Check-in to a 3-star hotel with a ground-floor room. After a short rest, a gentle visit to Har Ki Pauri for the evening Ganga aarti — we use a quiet viewing spot away from the main crush. Early dinner and rest.

A full rest day in Haridwar to recover from travel and acclimatize to the gentler altitude before we head into the mountains. Mid-morning orientation briefing — our tour coordinator walks the group through the 13-day flow, doli arrangements at Yamunotri and Kedarnath, what to pack for the upper-altitude days, doctor on-call helpline number, and any special medical concerns. Optional short visits in the afternoon: Mansa Devi cable-car or Chandi Devi (only for those who wish — most pilgrims prefer to rest).

After breakfast we begin the climb into the Garhwal hills. Approximately 210 km drive via Dehradun and Mussoorie to Barkot at around 1,220 metres. A scheduled lunch stop at a Mussoorie viewpoint dhaba gives the group a stretch-break and the first proper Himalayan vista. Arrive Barkot by late afternoon; check-in to a ground-floor room; warm dinner and early sleep — tomorrow is the Yamunotri darshan day.

Early breakfast at Barkot. Vehicle drive to Janki Chatti (around 45 km, 1.5 hours). At Janki Chatti, the <strong>pre-booked doli</strong> meets the group; the porter team has been confirmed the night before. The 6 km doli-trek to the Yamunotri temple takes 2.5-3 hours one-way through pine forest along the Yamuna river. Darshan at the temple, Surya Kund prasad (rice and potatoes cooked in the natural hot spring), and return doli to Janki Chatti. Vehicle back to Barkot by late evening.

A gentle 100 km drive from Barkot to Uttarkashi (about 4-5 hours including stops). Uttarkashi at 1,150 metres sits on the Bhagirathi (Ganga) river — a much more important Shaiva pilgrimage town than first appearances suggest. After check-in to a ground-floor hotel and lunch, the afternoon is a relaxed visit to <strong>Vishwanath temple Uttarkashi</strong> (one of the principal Shiva shrines of Garhwal) and the adjacent Shakti temple. Quiet evening; this is positioning for tomorrow's Gangotri darshan.

Early breakfast and drive up the Bhagirathi valley to Gangotri (about 100 km, 4 hours). Gangotri at 3,100 metres is road-accessible to within a short walk of the temple — no doli or pony needed. The group walks 200-300 metres from the parking area to the temple. After darshan, tarpan at the riverside, and a small collection of Ganga-jal, we drive back down to <strong>Harsil</strong> (around 25 km from Gangotri at 2,620 metres) for overnight. The Harsil night is built into the itinerary specifically for high-altitude acclimatization — sleeping at a moderate altitude after a day at 3,100 m greatly reduces the chance of altitude sickness when we begin the Kedarnath leg.

The longest single-day drive of the yatra — approximately 220 km from Harsil to Guptkashi via Uttarkashi, Tehri, and Rudraprayag. We start at first light to use the cooler morning hours and to make the drive in daylight. Frequent comfort stops every 60-90 minutes; a proper sit-down lunch break at a known clean dhaba near Tehri; and arrival at Guptkashi (around 1,300 metres) by evening. Check-in to a ground-floor room with a Kedarnath-valley view. Light dinner. Early sleep — tomorrow is the Guptkashi rest day before Kedarnath.

A deliberately empty day at Guptkashi. The group can sleep late, take a slow walk to the village Ardhanareeshwar temple, or simply rest. Those who have chosen the <strong>optional Kedarnath helicopter</strong> (extra ₹14,000 per person) are taken to the Sirsi or Phata helipad in the afternoon for ticket confirmation and weight-checks for tomorrow's flight. The Kedarnath day. Group splits into two options based on what was chosen at booking: <strong>(a)</strong> the doli/pony group is driven early to Gaurikund and the <strong>pre-booked doli or pony</strong> takes the 16 km route to the Kedarnath temple at 3,583 metres — typically 5-7 hours one-way depending on porter pace; <strong>(b)</strong> the helicopter group flies from Sirsi or Phata helipad — typically a 10-minute flight, 1.5-2 hours of darshan, and return flight. Both groups have the same darshan window at Kedarnath. Overnight at Kedarnath (in a GMVN lodge or basic accommodation; included in package as base option) <em>or</em> same-day return to Guptkashi per the group's choice on the morning of the day, based on weather and how the pilgrims feel.

Pilgrims who stayed at Kedarnath descend by doli/pony or heli back to Gaurikund/Phata in the morning. Pilgrims who returned to Guptkashi on Day 9 join the group at Gaurikund. From Gaurikund the full group drives to <strong>Joshimath</strong> (around 200 km, 7-8 hours via Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag — the famous Panch Prayag confluences are seen along the way). Late evening arrival at Joshimath, ground-floor room, warm dinner, full rest.

Early breakfast and drive to Badrinath (around 45 km, 2.5 hours from Joshimath). Badrinath at 3,133 metres is road-accessible — the temple is a short walk from the parking area, and there is no trek or doli required. The group does <strong>Tapt Kund</strong> (hot spring bath, optional) before darshan, then darshan at the Badri Vishal temple with its famous shaligram-stone image, then a quiet circumambulation, and lunch at the Badri-prasad annakshetra. Afternoon return drive to Joshimath by evening. Final overnight before the descent.

Long but downhill descent from Joshimath to Rishikesh (around 250 km, 8-9 hours via Devprayag — the meeting of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda where the Ganga as we know it is born). Frequent comfort stops, lunch at a known dhaba. Check-in at Rishikesh to a ground-floor riverside hotel. Optional evening <strong>Triveni Ghat Ganga aarti</strong> for those who feel up to it — many pilgrims simply rest by the river.

Final breakfast at the Rishikesh hotel. A short drive to Haridwar (25 km, 45 minutes). Drop at Haridwar railway station, Dehradun airport (60 km, 90 minutes — extra), or onward arrangement as confirmed at booking. The yatra is complete.
