What it costs
Prices are per boat, not per person.
A bajra is the old flat-bottomed Ganga boat — broad, steady, and roofed, with room to sit properly rather than perch. Taking one privately means you set the hour, the route and the pace, and nobody else is aboard.
What people use it for. A family that wants the ghats without a schedule. A birthday or an anniversary on the water. A shraddh or a small puja, for which we can arrange a priest. Photographers who need the boat to stop where the light is rather than where the itinerary says.
Tea is on board, and we can put a simple Banarasi snack box on it if you tell us in advance.
Any hour. Dawn and the aarti hour are the obvious ones, but the middle of the afternoon on the river is quiet and almost nobody books it.

Common questions
- How many people fit on a bajra?
- Eight comfortably, with room to move. We can arrange a larger boat for a bigger group — tell us the number.
- Can we have a puja on board?
- Yes. We arrange the priest and the materials at cost, and you tell us which rite. Ask at least two days ahead.
- Can we choose the route?
- Yes, that is the point of taking it privately. Within whatever the river police permit that day, the boatman goes where you ask.
- Is it per person?
- No, per boat. ₹4,500 covers the whole bajra for up to eight for two hours.
