Things few people know about ank jyotish
- No letter carries the value 9 in the Chaldean table. The number was held apart as sacred, which is why a namank of 9 can only arrive through reduction, never from a single letter.
- Chaldean numerology is the older of the two systems in common use, and the one practised alongside Vedic jyotish. Most Western websites use the Pythagorean table instead — same name, different arithmetic, different result.
- Your moolank never changes and your namank can: it follows the name the world actually uses for you. A nickname that sticks is, numerologically, a different name.
- Reduction is why 1, 10, 19 and 28 births share a nature: each collapses to 1. The tradition reads the un-reduced number too, as the flavour of the shared digit.
- A personal year is computed from your birth day and month against the current year — it is why the same person has push years and consolidation years, and why advice that fit last year can misfit this one.

By the Chaldean table, on your name transliterated to Latin letters, exactly as you write it. The letter values are computed on our server and shown in your report, so you can check the arithmetic yourself.
Why does my number differ from another site?+
Two systems are in common use. Chaldean, which we follow and which is the one practised alongside Vedic jyotish, and Pythagorean, which most Western sites use. They assign different values to the same letters, so the namank differs. Neither is a mistake.
What is the difference between moolank and bhagyank?+
The moolank comes from the day of the month you were born and describes your instincts — how you first react. The bhagyank comes from the whole date and describes the larger current of the life, the direction effort flows most easily.
Does the AI calculate the numbers?+
No, and this matters. Every number is computed by our server from the classical rules. The model only interprets what it is given, and is explicitly forbidden from recomputing a digit.
Do I have to enter my real name?+
You should, because the namank reads the name the world actually calls you. A nickname gives you a reading of the nickname — which is sometimes interesting, but is not the same thing.
What if my name is in Hindi?+
Type it in English spelling. The Chaldean table maps Latin letters, so a name in Devanagari yields no namank at all — we will say so honestly rather than print a number built from nothing.
