Your home's directions, and three things you can actually do

Your home's directions, and the three remedies you can act on this week.

₹199

Most vastu advice online ends in something you cannot do — move a kitchen, break a wall, buy a pyramid. This one starts from the home as it stands and ends with three changes that cost little and take a week. If you rent, every one of them is reversible.

Vastu Analysis

Your home's directions, and the three remedies you can act on this week.

Which room lies in which direction

Fill in the ones you know and leave the rest — we will not guess at the others.

We improve homes, we do not condemn them. Every remedy for a rented home is reversible.

How it works

  1. 1Tell us which way the main door faces and which room lies in which direction — only the ones you know.
  2. 2Each placement is read against the classical guidance for that direction; what you did not provide is reported as not provided, never guessed.
  3. 3Read the analysis in about a minute: what your home already does well, what to adjust, and three remedies you can complete this week.

What you receive

The main entrance

Where the home meets the world, and the tone it sets for every other placement.

Direction by direction

Every room you tell us about, read against the classical guidance for that direction.

Three priority remedies

Named, placed, and doable this week. Non-structural, always.

What is already right

Every home does something well. We say specifically what yours does, first.

The eight directions, and what each one carries

Vastu reads a home as eight directions around a centre, each associated with an element and a kind of activity it supports best. None of them is bad — each simply suits some uses better than others.

Northउत्तर — water
Associated with Kubera and flow — of money, work and visitors. Suits entrances, water sources and the desk where accounts are kept.
North-Eastईशान — the most sattvik corner
The direction of stillness and clarity. Best kept light, open and clean; the classical seat for the pooja space and for study.
Eastपूर्व — the sunrise line
Beginnings and health. Favours main doors, living rooms and any room where mornings actually happen.
South-Eastआग्नेय — fire
Agni's corner. The classical seat of the kitchen; fire placed here is fire in its own home.
Southदक्षिण — stability
Strength and rest. Bears weight well — storage and sleep sit comfortably here; it asks mainly not to be left hollow.
South-Westनैऋत्य — earth
The heaviest corner, and the seat of the household's head. Master bedroom and heavy storage anchor the home from here.
Westपश्चिम — gains
Varuna's direction: completion and returns. Comfortable for dining, children's rooms and the day's winding-down.
North-Westवायव्य — air
The moving corner. Suits guests, marriageable daughters in the classical texts, and anything meant to circulate rather than settle.

How a remedy is chosen

Every remedy this analysis gives is non-structural: placement, light, colour, cleaning, plants. The classical logic is balance — strengthen what a direction wants, lighten what burdens it.

Placementmove things, not walls
The heaviest furniture drifts south and west; the north-east breathes. Most homes improve from carrying things, not building.
Lightthe cheapest correction
A dark north-east or a harsh south-west is often the whole finding. A lamp lit where stillness lives changes a room's use of itself.
Colour and clothreversible by design
Direction-friendly colours in covers and curtains — chosen because a tenant can take every one of them down.
Orderthe remedy nobody sells
A cluttered corner behaves like a blocked one. Half the classical guidance amounts to: keep the sattvik directions clean and open.

Things few people know about vastu

  • The Vastu Purusha Mandala — the diagram the whole science rests on — is a body laid over the plot, head to the north-east, feet to the south-west. The heavy corner and the open corner follow from that image.
  • Vastu directions are eighths of a circle, not compass degrees. A door 'faces east' across a 45-degree arc, which is why a phone compass held roughly is measurement enough.
  • The tradition treats the north-east open-and-light rule and the south-west heavy rule as the two findings that matter most — most remedies anywhere in a home serve one of those two.
  • Classical vastu is siting and proportion for builders; applying it to finished homes through placement and light is the modern, renter's form — and the only form this analysis practises.

What this reading will never do

  • We never lead with demolition or construction, and never suggest anything a renter cannot undo.
  • We never blame a family's difficulties on their home.
  • No expensive yantras, no pyramids, nothing to buy.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost?+

₹199, paid by UPI before the analysis is written, and the amount is always shown before you confirm. No card details and no subscription — and the remedies themselves still never ask you to buy anything.

Do I need a floor plan?+

No. Form-only analysis is complete and valid — telling us which room lies in which direction is enough. If you have a plan you can upload it, and we use it only to confirm what you told us.

I rent. Is this useful?+

Particularly so. Tick the rented box and every priority remedy will be reversible and landlord-safe — placement, colour, light, cleaning, plants. Nothing fixed, nothing that risks a deposit.

Will it tell me my house is bad?+

No. A home that is not textbook-ideal is simply a home with adjustments available, and that is how the analysis is written. We improve homes; we do not condemn them.

How do I work out which direction a room is in?+

Stand in the centre of your home with a compass app and face the room. For the main door, stand outside facing the building. Approximate is fine — vastu directions are eighths of a circle, not degrees.

What if I only know a couple of rooms?+

That is fine. Fill in what you know. Directions you leave blank are reported as not provided rather than guessed at, and the reading rests only on what you actually told us.

Can vastu fix my health or money problems?+

We will not claim that, and you should be careful of anyone who does. Vastu here adjusts the comfort and flow of a space. It does not explain illness, grief or money, and the analysis is explicitly forbidden from suggesting it does.

How long does it take?+

About a minute. The analysis is written for your home from what you told us, not assembled from generic direction rules.
