Day-by-day
Itinerary

Day 1 is your travel day from Delhi. We send the train options that fit the yatra on WhatsApp at booking — typically an overnight that leaves Delhi between 6 PM and 11 PM and reaches Ayodhya Dham junction by 7–9 AM the next morning. Sleeper coach is the lowest cost (around ₹600–900 each way), 2nd-AC the comfortable choice (around ₹1,800–2,300 each way). You board, sleep through the journey, and arrive at Ayodhya at the start of Day 2. The local coordinator is on WhatsApp through the journey — share your PNR with us at booking so we can track the train.
Note Common trains: 12226 Kaifiyat Express (Old Delhi 8:25 PM → Ayodhya Dham by early morning), 14006 Lichchavi Express (Anand Vihar 6:00 PM → Ayodhya Cantt by morning). Train timings change with the railway timetable — we confirm the day's best option at booking. Carry a light shawl, water, and an ID match for the ticket.
Our coordinator meets you at Ayodhya Dham junction in the morning. We take you to the budget hotel or dharamshala for a fresh-up and breakfast — pure vegetarian, simple, hot. By mid-morning we begin the darshan circuit on auto and e-rickshaw. Ram Janmabhoomi first — entry is free and unslotted, and darshan runs continuously from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM with no midday break; we take you in during the calm morning window and can request free aarti passes (Mangala, Shringar, Shayan) through srjbtkshetra.org, subject to availability. Then Hanuman Garhi on the hilltop — 76 steps up to the shrine of Hanuman as the guardian of Ayodhya. Kanak Bhawan after — the golden palace gifted to Sita by Kaikeyi as Sri Ram and Sita took their abode. Lunch break at the hotel or a recommended dhaba near the Ram Mandir. In the afternoon, Nageshwarnath at Ramkot — the Shiva linga held by tradition to have been installed by Kush, son of Sri Ram. Evening: the Saryu Aarti at Naya Ghat — daily about 5:30–6:00 PM in winter and 6:45–7:15 PM in summer; we arrange the seating. Back at the hotel for dinner on your own.
Note Ram Janmabhoomi darshan is free and needs no pass or booking — there is no general-darshan slot to hold. Only the Mangala, Shringar, and Shayan aartis take free passes, which we can request via srjbtkshetra.org, subject to availability. Dress code: cover shoulders and knees, no leather items, phones in the locker outside the security check. Hanuman Garhi is 76 steps — older travellers can ride a palki at the base for ₹100–150. Kanak Bhawan has a brief midday closure 11:30 AM–4:30 PM; we plan around it. Auto/e-rickshaw inside Ayodhya is bundled in — you do not pay the driver directly.
An early breakfast at the hotel. The Day 3 morning is for one more darshan — your choice of two. Bharat Kund at Nandigram (15 km south of Ayodhya, about 40 minutes) for the quieter shrine where Bharat is held to have ruled in Sri Ram's sandals through the fourteen years of vanvas — a small temple, the kund, far fewer pilgrims than the main town. Or Treta ke Thakur near Naya Ghat — the older idols in dark stone of Sri Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman, whose sanctum opens just once a year, on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi — on every other date we take you for the exterior and ghat-side darshan. Brunch back at the hotel. Checkout, then the drop at Ayodhya Dham junction for the evening return train to Delhi. You reach Delhi the next morning.
Note Bharat Kund is the quieter choice and we recommend it if you have made the longer drives elsewhere on the yatra. Treta ke Thakur is the right pick if you want to stay in Ayodhya town — remember the sanctum opens only on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi; on other dates the darshan is from outside. Return train options mirror the Day 1 list — confirm your PNR with us so the drop matches departure. Carry your prasad and Saryu-jal kalash safely on the train.
The story
About this package
Three days in Ayodhya, on the land-only floor. From ₹8,999 per person on twin-share — the same floor as Yatra.com's land-only Ayodhya quote. You board an overnight train at Delhi, we receive you at Ayodhya Dham junction the next morning, and you spend a full day at the dhams Tulsidas wrote about. The third morning, one more darshan, and the evening train back. That is the package.
What this package is
- Land-only. You book your own train ticket (we will share PNR-tested options on WhatsApp — sleeper class around ₹600–900, 2nd-AC around ₹1,800–2,300 each way from New Delhi or Anand Vihar to Ayodhya Dham). The ₹8,999 floor covers two nights of stay, all ground transport at Ayodhya, breakfast, and a Hindi-speaking local coordinator.
- Budget tier. A clean budget hotel or well-run dharamshala within 1–2 km of the Ram Mandir — twin-share, attached bathroom, hot water in the morning, ceiling fan, AC available at a top-up.
- Hindi-first WhatsApp ops. Booking, daily updates, darshan-time confirmations, and on-ground help — all in Hindi on WhatsApp. Our coordinator at Ayodhya speaks Awadhi and Hindi; English on request only.
- Ex-Delhi. We help you choose the right train from New Delhi, Anand Vihar, or Hazrat Nizamuddin. Pickup from Ayodhya Dham junction; drop back at the station for the return train.
- From ₹8,999 per person on twin-share. Quoted on enquiry — final price depends on travel dates, hotel/dharamshala choice, and whether you add the train booking through us. The floor matches Yatra.com's published land-only rate; we hold to it because the cost structure at Ayodhya genuinely allows it.
How the three days unfold
Day 1 is your travel day from Delhi. We send you the train options that fit the yatra — typically an overnight that leaves Delhi between 6 PM and 11 PM and reaches Ayodhya Dham junction by 7–9 AM the next morning. Sleeper coach or 2nd-AC, depending on your budget. The local coordinator is on WhatsApp through the journey.
Day 2 is the full Ayodhya day. We pick you up at Ayodhya Dham junction, take you to the hotel for a fresh-up and breakfast, then begin the darshan: Ram Janmabhoomi first (entry is free and unslotted; we can request free aarti passes through srjbtkshetra.org), Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, Nageshwarnath at Ramkot, and the Saryu Aarti at Naya Ghat in the evening. Auto and e-rickshaw within Ayodhya are bundled in.
Day 3 morning is for one more darshan — Bharat Kund at Nandigram (15 km) for those who want the quieter shrine, or Treta ke Thakur near Naya Ghat for the older idols in stone. Brunch at the hotel, then drop at the station for the evening train back to Delhi. You reach Delhi the next morning.
Who this is for
Book this if:
- You want the full Ayodhya darshan circuit in three days, on a land-only budget
- You are comfortable with an overnight sleeper or 2nd-AC train from Delhi
- You prefer a clean budget hotel or dharamshala over a 3-star resort
- You speak Hindi (or are happy with Hindi-first WhatsApp ops)
- Your budget for the trip is in the ₹6,000–10,000 per person range, land plus train
When to go
Ayodhya is open year-round. The peak windows are Ram Navami (March–April), Sawan (July–August), Kartik Purnima (November), and the days around 22 January (Pran Pratishtha anniversary) — book 6–8 weeks ahead for these. The settled months are October to February — cool mornings, comfortable for the walks between dhams. Avoid the May–June heat if you can.

Before you book
Questions pilgrims ask
What does this package's price include, and what doesn't it?
It covers two nights' twin-share stay at a budget hotel or dharamshala 1-2 km from Ram Mandir, station pickup and drop, local auto/e-rickshaw travel for the full Ayodhya circuit, daily breakfast, and our Hindi-speaking coordinator on WhatsApp throughout. Your Delhi-Ayodhya train tickets, lunch, dinner and any AC room upgrade are separate.
How do I get to Ayodhya from Delhi, and how long does it take?
You travel by overnight train, usually departing Delhi between 6 PM and 11 PM and reaching Ayodhya Dham Junction around 7-9 AM the next morning, in sleeper class or 2nd AC. This saves you a hotel night and lands you fresh for Day 2's sightseeing. Book your seats as early as you can, since Ayodhya trains fill up fast, especially around festivals.
Is Ram Janmabhoomi darshan free, and what should I expect at the entrance?
Yes, general darshan is free and currently unslotted, and we start Day 2 there before the queue builds up. You will pass through a security check where mobile phones, cameras, bags and leather items are not permitted, so carry only what fits in your hand. Dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees, as this is checked at the gate.
What time is Saryu Aarti, and where do we watch it?
Saryu Aarti at Naya Ghat runs roughly 5:30-6:00 PM in winter and 6:45-7:15 PM in summer, and it's the last stop on Day 2's itinerary. We arrange seating assistance but the ghat itself is open to everyone, so exact positioning depends on how early you arrive. It's a genuinely moving sight worth the wait.
Is the budget hotel or dharamshala comfortable for a family?
Rooms are twin-share with an attached bathroom, hot water and a fan, which is enough for most pilgrim families, but this is a budget category, not a resort. If you want air conditioning, it's an upgrade of roughly ₹400-600 a night that you pay locally. Tell us at booking if anyone in your group needs a ground-floor room.
What happens on Day 3, and is it flexible?
Day 3 is a shorter morning: you choose either Bharat Kund at Nandigram, about 15 km out, or Treta ke Thakur, followed by an early brunch before we drop you at the station for your evening train back. Kanak Bhawan on Day 2 also closes midday, roughly 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM, so we plan around that gap. Let your coordinator know your preference the evening before.
When is the worst time to book this trip?
Ram Navami, the Sawan month and Kartik Purnima bring Ayodhya's biggest crowds, longer queues at the mandir and packed trains, so book at least 6-8 weeks ahead if you're travelling then. October to February on a regular week gives you a calmer, faster darshan. We'll run the trip either way, but peak dates mean more standing and less certainty on timing.
What meals and expenses should I budget separately?
Lunch and dinner both days are not included; simple vegetarian meals near the mandir typically run affordably, but exact rates vary by place and season. Prasad, donations, personal shopping and your Delhi-Ayodhya train fare are also separate. Only breakfast is included with the stay.
