Day 1 begins at the Vande Bharat platform in Delhi. You board at New Delhi or Anand Vihar; the train is air-conditioned, the seats recline, on-board meals are served. At 2:30 PM you step off at Ayodhya Cantt — our sedan and our Hindi-speaking coordinator are waiting on the platform, no walking through the parking lot to look for a driver. The sedan takes you the short distance to the 4-star hotel within a 500-metre walk of Hanuman Garhi. We have requested a ground-floor room at the time of booking. Check-in by 3:30 PM, a short rest, a cup of tea at the hotel.

By 5:00 PM we walk slowly down to Hanuman Garhi — the hill shrine of Bajrangbali, the gatekeeping darshan of Ayodhya. The 76 steps are gentle and wide, with rest landings at regular intervals; we take it at the pace of the slowest walker in the group. Bow to Hanuman ji, take the prasad, and the sedan takes you on to Naya Ghat for the Saryu Aarti — about 5:30–6:00 PM in winter, 6:45–7:15 PM in summer, and on winter dates we take the aarti first and Hanuman Garhi after so nothing is missed — our coordinator has arranged reserved seating on the ghat itself, second row, white sheet, the river in front of you. You sit. Back at the hotel by 8:00 PM for dinner.
Note Vande Bharat 22425 departs Anand Vihar at 6:10 AM and reaches Ayodhya Cantt at 2:30 PM; it does not run on Wednesdays. We confirm the exact train at booking. The Hanuman Garhi steps are wide stone; sturdy footwear, leave it at the marked counter. Modest dress; mosquito repellent for the Saryu ghat in the evening. The hotel has hot water all day; the sedan has bottled water.
The heart of the yatra. Early breakfast at the hotel by 7:30 AM, then the sedan takes you to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi parikrama gate — general darshan is free and unslotted — there is nothing to book, so we reach at the opening hour when the line moves fastest, and darshan runs continuously from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM. Phones go into the lockers at the security check, no leather, modest dress. The darshan of Ramlalla at the new mandir is short — this is a Jyotirling-style queue, moving, not sit-and-watch — and after Ramlalla you take the inner parikrama and the prasad. Out by mid-morning.

The sedan is waiting outside the perimeter. A two-minute drive to Kanak Bhawan — the palace Kaikeyi gifted to Sita Mata on her wedding day, the only Ayodhya temple where Sita-Ram are worshipped together as raja-rani, dressed in real-cloth garments changed every few hours. From Kanak Bhawan a short walk (or sedan hop if you prefer) to Dashrath Mahal — the place held to be the palace of King Dashrath, Sri Ram's father; the murti of Sri Ram is in the bal-roop, the child form. Back at the hotel for lunch and a long afternoon rest through the heat. About 45 minutes before the aarti — around 5:00 PM in winter, 6:00 PM in summer — the sedan takes you to the Saryu for the sandhya — reserved seating again, the lamps on the river, the bell, the conch.
Note Ram Janmabhoomi: entry is free and unslotted; only the Mangala, Shringar, and Shayan aartis take free passes, which we request through srjbtkshetra.org subject to availability. Modest dress is mandatory; no mobile phones inside the security perimeter (lockers at entry). The parikrama is paved and gentle. Kanak Bhawan and Dashrath Mahal are within 1 km of each other; the sedan hops between them or you walk, whichever you prefer. Saryu sandhya aarti runs about 5:30–6:00 PM in winter and 6:45–7:15 PM in summer.
The day for the older Ayodhya — the shrines the day-tripper buses miss, the ones the puranas and the Ramcharitmanas name. After breakfast the sedan takes you first to Lakshman Quila on the Saryu — the shrine to Sri Ram's younger brother Lakshman, who, by the older Vaishnava reckoning, is the manifestation of Shesha-Naga and the elder of the four brothers in nitya-leela. The temple is on a small rise, the river is in view, the priests are old-Ayodhya families.

From Lakshman Quila a short sedan hop to Treta ke Thakur — the spot held to be where the Ashwamedha Yagna of the late Ramayana was performed by Sri Ram, with murtis carved in black stone from a single rock, said to have been installed by Raja Vikramaditya in the 1st century BCE. The sanctum opens just once a year, on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi; on every other date the visit is from outside, and our coordinator plans it that way unless your dates fall on that Ekadashi. Then Choti Devkali — the kuldevi temple of Sita Mata, the goddess Mithila sent with her as her wedding gift to Ayodhya, installed by Sri Ram for his bride. Lunch and rest at the hotel through the afternoon.

Late afternoon, the sedan drops you at Tulsi Smarak Bhawan — the memorial built to Goswami Tulsidas, who walked the lanes of Ayodhya in the 16th century writing the Ramcharitmanas, the version of the Ramayana most North Indian families read in their homes. The bhawan has the dohas of Tulsidas etched on the walls, a small library, and a quiet hall for the evening Manas-paath. Dinner at the hotel.
Note All four shrines today are within Ayodhya town, none more than 4 km from the hotel. The sedan never has you in it for more than 15 minutes at a stretch. Treta ke Thakur opens its sanctum only once a year, on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi; on all other dates we take you for the exterior and ghat-side darshan. Choti Devkali is a small temple in the older lanes; modest dress, cover head if you wish, no leather. Tulsi Smarak Bhawan hosts the evening Manas-paath around 6:30 PM most days.
The closing morning. After breakfast the sedan takes you 15 km south of Ayodhya to Bharat Kund — Bharat Bhumi, the place where Sri Ram's younger brother Bharat is held to have lived for the fourteen years of Sri Ram's exile. Bharat refused the throne his mother Kaikeyi had won for him; he placed the paduka (wooden sandals) of Sri Ram on the throne and lived as a renunciate at Nandigram, on the southern edge of the Kosala kingdom. The kund is the tank where Bharat is held to have done his daily snan; the small temple has the murtis of Bharat and Shatrughna, and the older Vaishnava acharyas count this as one of the four cornerstones of Saket along with the Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi, and Kanak Bhawan.

An hour at the kund, a quiet darshan, the parikrama. The sedan brings you back to the hotel for checkout by 11:30 AM, then to Ayodhya Cantt for the afternoon Vande Bharat 22426 to Delhi. The train reaches Anand Vihar close to midnight; our coordinator hands you over at the platform with the prasad of the four days. The yatra is closed. Saket — Hanuman Garhi, Janmabhoomi, Kanak Bhawan, Bharat Bhumi — touched in full, at the pace seniors ask for.
Note Bharat Kund is a 30-minute sedan drive each way; the road is paved. The kund-side path is gentle, no climbing. Most Ayodhya day-tripper itineraries skip Bharat Kund because of the distance — we include it deliberately because the four-cornerstone parikrama is not complete without Bharat Bhumi. Return Vande Bharat 22426 departs Ayodhya Cantt at 3:25 PM and reaches Anand Vihar at 11:40 PM — a near-midnight arrival, so plan the onward transfer in Delhi. We confirm the exact train at booking. Lunch on the train is available; we can pre-order a Jain or pure-veg thali if you let us know at booking.
The story
About this package
Ayodhya, at the pace seniors ask for, from Delhi. Four days, Vande Bharat both ways, a private sedan on call from the moment you step off the train, a 4-star hotel within walking distance of Hanuman Garhi, and ground-floor rooms reserved on request so there is no lift and no stair-climb at the end of a long day. Built for the Delhi family that wants to take parents or grandparents to Saket without putting them through the queues, the long walks, and the auto-rides that the budget routes ask for.
This is our premium tier. Where the comfort tier puts you in a 3-star hotel and a shared coach, here you get a 4-star property, a private sedan with one driver for all four days, reserved seating at both Saryu Aartis, slot help for Ram Janmabhoomi, and a coordinator on call in Hindi through the yatra. The itinerary is the same Ayodhya you read about in the Ramayana — Hanuman Garhi, Ram Janmabhoomi, Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal, Lakshman Quila, Treta ke Thakur, Tulsi Smarak, Bharat Kund — but walked in short stretches with the sedan never more than two minutes away.
What makes this premium tier
- Vande Bharat both ways. Anand Vihar to Ayodhya Cantt on Day 1 (22425, no Wednesday service), Ayodhya Cantt to Anand Vihar on Day 4 (22426). Air-conditioned chair car or executive class, on-board meals, reclining seats. No overnight buses, no sleeper-class crowds, no flights.
- Private sedan for four days. One Toyota Etios, Honda Amaze, or Maruti Ciaz with one driver dedicated to your booking from the moment you step off the train. The sedan is not shared, not pooled, not "on call when free" — it is yours for four days.
- 4-star hotel walking distance from Hanuman Garhi. We have tied with a 4-star property within a 500-metre walk of the Hanuman Garhi steps. Ground-floor rooms reserved on request — no lift, no first-floor climb at the end of the evening aarti.
- Senior-friendly pace. Short walks broken with sedan hops. Reserved seating at both Saryu Aartis so you sit, not stand. Free unslotted entry at Ram Janmabhoomi, taken at the calm early hour, with aarti-pass help where available. Pure-veg meals at the hotel, hot water all day, doctor on call.
- Group size capped at six. This is not a 30-person coach yatra. Maximum two families, one sedan, one coordinator. The pace is set by the slowest walker in the group.
How the four days unfold
Day 1 you board the Delhi-Ayodhya Vande Bharat (22425) at Anand Vihar at 6:10 AM; it does not run on Wednesdays. The sedan and our coordinator are waiting at Ayodhya Cantt at 2:30 PM. Hotel check-in by 3:30 PM, a short rest, then a walk to Hanuman Garhi for the evening darshan — the 76-step climb is gentle but we keep it slow with rest landings. Back at the hotel for dinner, then a sedan drop at Naya Ghat for the Saryu Aarti with reserved seating.
Day 2 is Ram Janmabhoomi. General darshan is free and unslotted — there is nothing to book, so we reach at the opening hour when the line moves fastest; free aarti passes (Mangala, Shringar, Shayan) can be requested through srjbtkshetra.org where availability allows. After Ramlalla darshan, the sedan takes you the short distance to Kanak Bhawan (Sita Mata's palace) and Dashrath Mahal (the place held to be the palace of King Dashrath, Sri Ram's father). Lunch and rest at the hotel through the heat of the afternoon, then the second Saryu Aarti at sandhya — again with reserved seating.
Day 3 is the older Ayodhya, the one most yatris miss. Lakshman Quila on the Saryu (the shrine to Sri Ram's younger brother), Treta ke Thakur (the spot where the Ashwamedha Yagna of the Ramayana is held to have been performed), Choti Devkali (the kuldevi temple of Sita Mata, brought from Mithila as her wedding gift), and Tulsi Smarak Bhawan (the memorial to Goswami Tulsidas, who walked these lanes writing the Ramcharitmanas). The sedan hops you between sites so the day stays short on foot.
Day 4 morning is Bharat Kund — Bharat Bhumi, 15 km from Ayodhya, where Bharat is held to have lived as a renunciate for the fourteen years Sri Ram was in exile, refusing the throne, keeping the paduka on the throne in his stead. A 30-minute sedan drive, an hour at the kund, and back to Ayodhya Cantt for the afternoon Vande Bharat 22426, which leaves at 3:25 PM and reaches Anand Vihar at 11:40 PM.
Who this is for
Book this if:
- You are taking parents, in-laws, or grandparents to Ayodhya and want the journey to be comfortable, not hardy
- You want Vande Bharat both ways, not flights and not overnight buses
- You want a private sedan, not a shared coach, and one driver for all four days
- You want a hotel where the room is on the ground floor and the temple is a walk, not a cab ride
- Your budget is in the ₹17,000–22,000 per person range and you want a hassle-free four days
When to go
Ayodhya is most comfortable from October to March — cool mornings, dry evenings, warm afternoons. Ram Navami (March-April) and Deepotsav (October-November, Diwali) are the two festival peaks; the city is at its fullest then, hotel rates climb, and we recommend booking eight weeks ahead. April to June is hot (38–43°C) and we suggest morning-only sightseeing in that window. July to September is the monsoon — passable but humid, and the Saryu runs high.

Questions pilgrims ask
What does the ₹19,999 price cover, and what does it leave out?
It includes round-trip Vande Bharat Express tickets, three nights at a 4-star hotel within 500 metres of Hanuman Garhi, daily breakfast and pure-vegetarian dinner, a private AC sedan with dedicated driver for all four days, and reserved Saryu Aarti seating on two evenings. Lunch on all four days, prasad, donations, travel insurance, GST and travel to your Delhi boarding station are not included.
Does 'reserved seating' at Saryu Aarti guarantee a front view?
It means our coordinator arranges a spot for your group at both the Day 1 evening and Day 2 sandhya aarti, not a promised front-row position, since actual seating depends on that day's crowd and any changes the temple committee makes. We handle this on the ground rather than pre-booking a fixed seat. If you're travelling on a festival date, expect it to be tighter than usual.
Is Ram Janmabhoomi darshan slotted, and what are the entry rules?
General darshan is free and currently unslotted; we take you in during Day 2's opening hours. Mobile phones, cameras and bags are not permitted past the security check, so leave them at the hotel or in the sedan. These entry rules have been revised more than once since the mandir opened in 2024, and we reconfirm the current position closer to your travel date.
Why does this package skip a Wednesday departure?
Our booked outbound Vande Bharat service (train 22425) does not run on Wednesdays, so we do not offer a Wednesday start date for this itinerary. If Wednesday is your only option, ask us about the comfort-tier package instead, which uses a different train. We'll always tell you upfront if your preferred date isn't available on this train.
What is covered on the extra sites this package includes over the shorter ones?
Beyond Hanuman Garhi and Ram Janmabhoomi, you also get Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal, Lakshman Quila on the Saryu, Treta ke Thakur (viewed from outside except on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi), Choti Devkali, an evening Manas-paath at Tulsi Smarak Bhawan, and Bharat Kund on Day 4. The extra day means these are spread out with rest time, not crammed into one long day.
How is the 4-star hotel different from the comfort package's 3-star stay?
This hotel is within a 500-metre walk of Hanuman Garhi, and offers bottled water in the car, hot water all day, and a ground-floor room on request. It's a genuinely more comfortable property, though both packages get you the same core darshan experience, so the difference is mainly in comfort and walking distance, not access to the mandir.
When should we avoid travelling if we want a calmer trip?
Ram Navami and the days around Deepotsav, the evening before Diwali, bring Ayodhya's heaviest crowds of the year, with slow queues even for a small group like this one. October to March is generally the most comfortable weather and a calmer mandir experience. This package runs on any date you pick (barring the Wednesday train gap), but peak dates mean more waiting regardless of hotel category.
What meals and costs are not included?
Lunch on all four days is on you; with a 4-star base nearby, expect city-standard restaurant pricing rather than roadside rates. Prasad, temple donations, personal expenses, travel insurance, GST and your travel to the Delhi boarding station are also separate. Breakfast and dinner every day are covered.
