Day 1 begins at your Lucknow address. The sedan arrives by 7:00 AM; the driver introduces himself in Hindi, bags loaded, we are on the road north-west by first light. The drive runs through Sitapur — about 90 km on a paved state highway, one chai stop along the way — and into Naimisharanya by mid-morning. We check into the 3-star hotel near Chakra Tirth, rest briefly, take a light lunch.

By 2:30 PM we walk down to Chakra Tirth — the round pond opened by the rim of the manomaya chakra of Brahma, the centre of the Kali Yuga vow-ground. Here, at the beginning of the Kali Yuga, the rishis are held to have chosen the spot for their long satra by following the manomaya chakra that Brahma released from his own mind; where its rim fell, the chakra cut a kund, and the kund became the entry-tirth of Naimisharanya. Pilgrims take the Pragwal sankalp here — the vow to perform the parikrama and complete the darshan — and bathe at the kund before any other shrine. After Chakra Tirth, Vyas Gaddi, the small shrine marking the seat of Vyasa during the recitation of the Puranas, and Lalita Devi, one of the Shakti Pithas. Late afternoon, the Naimisharanya Hanuman Garhi on the rise. Evening aarti at Chakra Tirth, dinner at the hotel.
Note The drive from Lucknow to Naimisharanya is gentle — paved highway, light traffic, one stop at a Sitapur dhaba we know. The Chakra Tirth bath is open from sunrise; modest dress, change facility on site. If you want a full Pragwal sankalp with a tirth-purohit, our coordinator can arrange one (dakshina ₹500–1500 by tradition, paid separately). Footwear left at the marked counter; carry a small cloth bag for prasad. Mosquito repellent useful for the evening aarti.
Early breakfast at the hotel by 7:30 AM, then a short 10 km drive north, fifteen to twenty minutes, to Misrikh-cum-Naimisharanya — the village named for the mishra (mixing) of all the tirthas. Rishi Suta is held to have summoned the eighty-eight thousand teerthas of the earth into a single kund here so that pilgrims who could not visit each one individually could bathe in all at once. We bathe at Dadhichi Kund (optional, change facility available), where Rishi Dadhichi is held to have given his bones for the vajra; then the Suta Gaddi darshan, the seat of the great narrator of the Puranas. Back to the Naimisharanya hotel by mid-morning, bags loaded.

By 11:00 AM we are on the road to Ayodhya — the long driving day of this circuit. The route runs south-east through Sitapur, around the Lucknow ring road, past Barabanki and Faizabad cantonment, and into Ayodhya by late afternoon. About 250 km, 5 hours of driving, one lunch stop at a Barabanki dhaba we know. We reach Ayodhya by 4:30–5:00 PM, check into the 3-star hotel within walking distance of the Saryu, freshen up, and walk out for Hanuman Garhi — the 76-step climb to the hill shrine of Bajrangbali, the gatekeeping darshan of Ayodhya. By 5:30–6:00 PM we move down to Ram Ki Paidi or Naya Ghat for the evening Saryu Aarti — lamps on the river, the bell, the conch. Dinner at a Hindi-speaking pure-veg dhaba near Tulsi Smarak Bhawan.
Note Dadhichi Kund bath is optional — change facility on site, modest cotton dhoti / sari preferred. The long Naimisharanya → Ayodhya drive is the heaviest road day of this circuit; we plan a lunch stop and two short tea breaks. Pack a small bag of essentials for the road. Hanuman Garhi climb is gentle; footwear left at the marked counter. Saryu Aarti at Ram Ki Paidi runs 6:00–6:45 PM in winter, 6:30–7:15 PM in summer. Carry one valid ID per pilgrim — useful for hotel check-in and Day 3 Janmabhoomi security.
The morning of the yatra. Early breakfast at the hotel by 7:30 AM, then we walk to Ram Janmabhoomi for the pre-booked darshan. Our coordinator has booked your slot through the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra system 7–10 days ahead, so the line is shorter than the walk-in queue. The darshan of Ramlalla at the new mandir, the parikrama of the inner courtyard, the prasad.

Out by mid-morning, we walk to Kanak Bhawan — the palace Kaikeyi gifted to Sita Mata on her wedding day, the only Ayodhya temple where Sita-Ram are worshipped together as raja-rani (king and queen, not avatara). The murti is small, dressed in real-cloth garments changed every few hours; the bhava is domestic, not heroic. After Kanak Bhawan, Nageshwarnath — the Shiva linga Kush, the elder son of Sri Ram, is held to have installed when he ruled Ayodhya. The temple is small, the priests are old-Ayodhya brahmins, the darshan is quiet.

Back at the hotel for lunch and checkout by 1:30 PM. The sedan turns south-west on NH27 toward Lucknow — same road, reverse direction, one chai stop. If you have chosen the Delhi-bound option, we drop you at Lucknow Junction by 5:30 PM, which suits the Lucknow Mail 12229 at 22:00 — a wait at the station, but the overnight run to Delhi you want. If you would rather take the Shatabdi 12003, tell the coordinator in advance and we bring checkout and the drive forward for a ~2 PM drop, since that train leaves at 15:30. Otherwise drop at your Lucknow address by 6:30–7:30 PM. Three days, two nights, the Puranic seat and the avatara-birth both touched. The blessing carried home.
Note Ram Janmabhoomi slot: our coordinator books your slot 7–10 days ahead through the official system. Modest dress is mandatory; no mobile phones inside the security perimeter (lockers at the entry). Kanak Bhawan and Nageshwarnath are within 1 km of each other, walkable. Carry one valid ID per pilgrim for the Janmabhoomi security check. If you have chosen the train-back-Delhi option, please share your preferred train with our coordinator at least one week ahead so tickets can be booked. The 5:30 PM drop is timed for the Lucknow Mail 12229 (22:00 departure), so expect a wait at the station; if you prefer the Shatabdi 12003 (15:30 departure), ask for the earlier ~2 PM drop when you book.
The story
About this package
Two Awadh tirthas in three days, from Lucknow. This is the combo our coordinators are asked for most often by pilgrims who land at Lucknow airport and want both the Puranic seat at Naimisharanya and the Ramlalla darshan at Ayodhya before they head home. We have built it as a single sedan circuit: pickup at Lucknow on Day 1 morning, the Chakra Tirth sankalp by lunchtime, the Saryu Aarti on Day 2 evening, and the Janmabhoomi on Day 3 morning — with an option to drop you at Lucknow station on Day 3 afternoon for the evening train to Delhi.
The two halves of this yatra speak to each other. Naimisharanya is the older seat — the forest where Suta Goswami narrated the eighteen Puranas to the assembled rishis, where the rim of the manomaya chakra of Brahma fell to mark the centre of the Kali Yuga vow-ground, where Vyasa himself sat in dhyana on what is still called the Vyas Gaddi. Ayodhya is the city of Sri Ram — younger by some reckonings, but the karmabhoomi of the Ramayana itself. A pilgrim who touches both in one journey carries home both the Purana and the Itihasa, both the shruti-seat and the avatara-birthplace.
What this package is
- Circuit combo — Naimisharanya + Ayodhya from Lucknow. A single private sedan, three days, two nights — one in Naimisharanya, one in Ayodhya. No backtracking, no overnight in Lucknow in the middle. Lucknow is the entry and the exit point only.
- Sedan from Lucknow. Private AC sedan (Dzire, Etios, or Aura class) — 4 seats, comfortable for 2 adults plus 1–2 children, with the same driver across all three days. Pickup from your Lucknow address or Lucknow airport / station on Day 1 morning; drop at your Lucknow address or station on Day 3 afternoon.
- From ₹7,499 per person on twin-share. Quoted on enquiry — final price depends on dates, hotel choice, and group size. The combo sits between our floor Ayodhya weekend SKU and our premium Saket-Kashi-Prayag circuits.
- 3-star stays both ends. Night 1 at a 3-star hotel near Chakra Tirth in Naimisharanya, walking distance from the morning Pragwal sankalp. Night 2 at a 3-star hotel within walking distance of the Saryu in Ayodhya, on the Tulsi Smarak side.
- Ram Mandir slot help. Ram Janmabhoomi darshan is free and needs no pass or booking. We take you at the Day 3 opening, when the queue is shortest, and can request a free Mangala, Shringar or Shayan aarti pass through the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra portal where you want one.
- Hindi-first operations. The driver speaks Hindi, the hotel staff speak Hindi, our coordinator on call speaks Hindi. Both halves of this yatra are sung in Hindi-Awadhi, and the package runs in that language.
- Train-back-Delhi option. If you arrived at Lucknow by flight and prefer to return by overnight train, we drop you at Lucknow Junction by 5:30 PM Day 3, which suits the Lucknow Mail 12229 (22:00 departure — expect a wait at the station). If you would rather take the Lucknow–Delhi Shatabdi 12003, which leaves at 15:30, ask us for the earlier ~2 PM drop instead. Train tickets are not included but our coordinator helps book.
How the three days unfold
Day 1 — Lucknow to Naimisharanya, Chakra Tirth sankalp. The sedan picks you up at 7:00 AM from your Lucknow address. We drive north-west through Sitapur — about 90 km, 2 hours on a paved state highway — and reach Naimisharanya by mid-morning. Check into the hotel near Chakra Tirth, freshen up, and walk down for the Pragwal sankalp at Chakra Tirth — the round pond opened by the rim of the manomaya chakra of Brahma, where pilgrims take the vow to perform the parikrama and bathe before any other darshan. After Chakra Tirth, Vyas Gaddi — the small shrine that marks the seat of Vyasa during the recitation of the Puranas — and Lalita Devi, one of the Shakti Pithas. Late afternoon Hanuman Garhi (the Naimisharanya one, on the rise). Evening aarti at Chakra Tirth, dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 — Dadhichi Kund and Misrikh morning, drive to Ayodhya, Saryu Aarti. Early breakfast, then we drive about 10 km north to Misrikh-cum-Naimisharanya — the village where Rishi Dadhichi gave his bones for the vajra and where the eighty-eight thousand teerthas were summoned into a single kund by the rishi Suta. Dadhichi Kund bath (optional), Suta Gaddi darshan, then back to the hotel to load bags. By 11:00 AM we are on the road to Ayodhya — the longer driving day of this circuit, about 250 km / 5 hours through Sitapur, Lucknow bypass, Barabanki, Faizabad. We reach Ayodhya by 4:30–5:00 PM, check into the hotel near the Saryu, and walk down for Hanuman Garhi (the gatekeeping climb of Saket) followed by the Saryu Aarti at Ram Ki Paidi or Naya Ghat. Dinner at a Hindi-speaking pure-veg dhaba near Tulsi Smarak Bhawan.
Day 3 — Ram Janmabhoomi morning, Kanak Bhawan, Nageshwarnath, return. Early breakfast by 7:30 AM. We walk to Ram Janmabhoomi for the pre-booked morning darshan — Ramlalla at the new mandir, the parikrama of the inner courtyard, the prasad. From there to Kanak Bhawan, the palace Kaikeyi gifted to Sita Mata on her wedding day, where Sita-Ram are worshipped together as raja-rani; then Nageshwarnath, the Shiva linga held to have been installed by Kush, the elder son of Sri Ram. Late lunch at the hotel, checkout by 1:30 PM, and the sedan returns toward Lucknow on the same NH27. Drop at your Lucknow address by 6:30–7:30 PM, or at Lucknow Junction by 5:30 PM for the Delhi-bound evening train.
Who this is for
Book this if:
- You are flying into Lucknow (from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata) and want to touch both Naimisharanya and Ayodhya before returning
- You hold the Puranas as central — Naimisharanya is the seat of their recitation, and you want to take Pragwal sankalp at Chakra Tirth
- You also want the Ramlalla darshan at Ayodhya and the Saryu Aarti in the same trip
- You are 2–4 adults travelling together, comfortable in a sedan
- Your budget is ₹8,000–14,000 per person and you want a single-vehicle circuit, not two separate trips
- You prefer Hindi-speaking operations at every touchpoint
When to go
Both Naimisharanya and Ayodhya are most comfortable from October to March — cool mornings at Chakra Tirth, dry evenings on the Saryu. Somavati Amavasya and Kartik Purnima (November) are the biggest crowds at Naimisharanya; Ram Navami (March-April) and Kartik Purnima at Ayodhya. April-May are hot (38–42°C) but workable for early-morning yatra. The monsoon (July-September) is mild but the Saryu rises and the Naimisharanya forest road becomes patchy, so we recommend the dry-season window.

Questions pilgrims ask
What does the ₹7,499 price include across both destinations?
It covers your private AC sedan and the same Hindi-speaking driver for all three days, two nights' twin-share accommodation (one 3-star hotel near Chakra Tirth, one near the Saryu in Ayodhya), daily breakfast and dinner, all local transfers in both towns, and help requesting a free Ram Mandir aarti pass. Lunch on all three days, prasad, donations, and any pandit dakshina for a fuller Pragwal ceremony are extra.
How does the route work, and how long is the Naimisharanya-to-Ayodhya leg?
Day 1 covers Naimisharanya, Day 2 is a short morning there followed by an 11 AM departure for Ayodhya, roughly 250 km and about 5 hours via Sitapur, the Lucknow bypass, Barabanki and Faizabad, arriving by late afternoon. Day 3 is Ayodhya's main darshan before the drive back to Lucknow. It's a genuinely full three days with real road time built in, not a rushed add-on.
Is Ram Janmabhoomi darshan on Day 3 free, and what should I expect there?
Yes, general darshan is free and currently unslotted, and Day 3 morning is when we take you. Expect a security check where phones, cameras and bags are not allowed, so carry only what fits in your hand and leave the rest at the hotel. Queue time varies by the day's crowd and cannot be promised in advance.
Is Lalita Devi at Naimisharanya really a Shakti Peeth, and is the Chakra Tirth ritual required?
Local tradition connects Lalita Devi to the Shakti Peeths associated with the goddess Sati, though it isn't on every standard list, so treat it as regionally significant rather than universally confirmed. At Chakra Tirth, a Pragwal offers a short sankalp ceremony, which is meaningful for most visitors but entirely optional if you'd rather just take darshan.
Can I choose to be dropped at Lucknow Junction instead of my home address on Day 3?
Yes, Day 3 offers two drop options: your Lucknow address by around 6:30-7:30 PM, or Lucknow Junction by about 5:30 PM if you need to catch an evening train onward, for instance to Delhi. Tell your coordinator which you need at booking so the day's timing is planned around it. The train fare itself is not included.
When should we avoid this trip for an easier experience?
Ram Navami and the days around Deepotsav, the evening before Diwali, bring Ayodhya's heaviest crowds of the year and will slow down Day 3 significantly. Naimisharanya stays relatively calm year-round, so the crowd risk is really about your Ayodhya day. October to February on an ordinary week is the more comfortable choice for both legs.
How physically demanding are the two days of sightseeing?
Naimisharanya involves walking between shrines and a kund parikrama at a gentle pace, while Ayodhya adds a real climb of 76 steps at Hanuman Garhi and standing time in the Ram Janmabhoomi queue. Across three days it adds up, so pace yourself and tell us if anyone in your group has mobility limits. We build in an evening arrival buffer on Day 2 rather than moving straight into sightseeing.
What meals and costs are not included?
Lunch on all three days is not included; simple thalis are available near both hotels at reasonable local rates. Prasad, temple donations, personal expenses, any train ticket for the Lucknow Junction drop-off option, and dakshina for a full Pragwal-led sankalp with a purohit (roughly ₹500-1,500, optional) are also separate. Breakfast and dinner both nights are covered.
